Big Game Watching: Fun & Tasty Finger Food Recipes

Whether you like football or not, you’re going to be doing the same thing as we are on Super Bowl Sunday: nomming your face off. Where to begin? Here are our favorite finger-foods to serve on game day. They’re easy to make—and go great with beer and wine (pairing suggestions included). Cheers!

1. Pulled Pork Sliders
Who doesn’t like sliders? No one. We’re going with pulled pork because (a) it’s delicious and (b) it has to be made ahead of time (give your slow cooker at least 8 hours), which means you can actually watch the kick off. If you’re a visual learner, check out our how-to-make-sliders video with barbecue master Carl Anderson. Recipe nerds: Here’s a good one from What’s Gaby Cooking.
Pair with: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

2. Ginger-Honey Chicken Wings
You can’t throw a Super Bowl party and not have wings. But you can take some creative license. This recipe from Big Girls Small Kitchen trades buffalo sauce for a tasty blend of garlic, honey, ginger and sriracha—and it’s a cinch to make.
Pair with: Untamed White

3. Pizza Dip
Looks like a pizza, eats like a dip—that’s the premise of this crowd-friendly recipe from Closet Cooking. Throw some cheese into a pie plate, slather on a layer of pizza sauce, add your favorite toppings (pepperoni, onions, mushrooms—anything goes), and bake until hot and gooey on the inside and crispy brown on top.
Pair with: Untamed Red

4. Mini-Cheddar Corn Dogs
Mmm, corn dogs. This recipe from Evil Shenanigans makes ‘em even more evil—er, delicious—by adding dash of sharp cheddar to the batter. Let the frying begin.
Pair with: Chardonnay

5. Roasted Apple & Brie Bruschetta
Once you’ve got your savory essentials covered, round out the menu with something a little less … Super Bowly. These apple-and-brie treats from How Sweet It Is are simple, creamy and just the right amount of sweet.
Pair with: Chardonnay
